- Ability OT's occupational therapy programs aim to assist people to regain meaningful and satisfying lives following a major injury or illness. We work with you to identify activities, tasks and roles that are important (such as study, work, leisure, self-care and family duties).
- Ability OT rehabilitation programs aim to build capacity and independence in the following areas:
- Activities of Daily Living - self care programs for bathing, toileting, eating, and medication management
- Cognitive Therapy - programs to maximise memory, attention and concentration, planning and organisation, problems solving and decision making.
- Physical Therapy - upper limb rehabilitation and maintenence programs, energy conservation and fatigue management plans
- Behavioural Therapy - Strategies for managing challenging behaviours after injury, carer training
- Social and Emotional Well Being - Assisting engagement in meaningful activity, social inclusion, community re-integration and development of a balanced lifestyle
- Education - on the impact of injury and illness and assisting with developing practical coping strategies
- Home Modifications - Assessment and advice on making structural changes to your home to maximise your independence
- Equipment Assessent and Prescription - Wheelchairs and mobility devices such as scooters and trikes, bathing equipment such as shower commodes and transfer benches and kitchen aids
